Saturday night in Milan is a precise relay: it starts with aperitivo around 6:30-7 PM (here it's a ritual, not a side note), dinner at 8:30-9, out again around 11, dancing from midnight onwards. Compared to other Italian cities everything starts a bit earlier, but don't be fooled: the night still ends late.

Saturday night in Milan must be booked. Restaurants in the hot areas (Brera, Navigli, Isola, Porta Venezia) fill up from 8:30 to 10:30 PM: without a reservation you risk wandering for half an hour. Concerts at mid-size venues (500-1500 seats) often sell out a few days in advance. Clubs no, but the guest list must be booked by Thursday to avoid the queue.
