Holidays in Rome mark the year

In Rome holidays are not just ordinary days: they're the emotional calendar of the city. Each holiday requires different preparation: the best spots fill up weeks in advance for New Year's and Valentine's, while for St. Patrick's and Halloween the rule is to arrive early the same evening.

The guides below collect the historic venues and the ones we have verified: for each you find address, price range and direct booking link, when available.

New Year's Eve in Rome

On December 31st restaurants publish their dinner menus from early December, with prices ranging from 60-80 EUR at neighborhood spots to 200-300 EUR at gourmet or starred restaurants. Clubs organize parties with mandatory pre-sale (50-150 EUR), often with entry plus drink or open bar. Historic squares - Piazza del Popolo, Circus Maximus - host free concerts organized by the city.
