Saturday night in Rome has its rules
Saturday night in Rome is a soft marathon: it starts with aperitivo around 7:30 PM, dinner at 9, out again around 11:30, dancing from 1 onwards. You don't have to do the whole cycle, but if you're here for the first time, keep in mind that the city empties early afternoon and comes back to life at sunset.

Romantic Saturday

When to book
Saturday night in Rome must be booked. Central restaurants (Trastevere, Monti, historic center) fill up from 8:30 to 10 PM: without a reservation you risk wandering for half an hour. Concerts at mid-size venues (500-1500 seats) often sell out a few days in advance. Clubs no, but the guest list must be booked by Thursday to avoid the queue.
For last-minute tickets, the two most reliable resources in Rome are TicketOne for big concerts and Dice.fm for indie ones. For restaurants, TheFork and the venue's Instagram pages work better than Google Maps.
